Jawbone has slowly been adding features to its recently release UP lineup. The last update included 2 additional days of battery life (going from 5-7), and this latest update bring the biggest, most requested features yet.

The UP3 and UP4 now include passive heart rate tracking (PHR), alongside the existing resting heart rate tracking (RHR). This means that throughout the day, the UP will semi regularly capture your PHR. This will happen whenever you are not in motion, to be more accurate.

Smart Coach has also been updated to offer new insights based off of keeping your heart healthy.

Another notable feature of the 1.2.14 update is the ability to automatically track sleep, without having to switch modes. This is also a long requested feature dating back to the original UP band. With the introduction of the UP24, Jawbone had made it slightly easier by allowing you to recover your sleep if you didn't remember to switch modes. Now on the UP2, UP3, and UP4 you no longer have to use the finicky capacitive touch button at all.
